Based on the week priors lack of contribution to this project I decided that during this week I would attempt to populate as much of the game design document as possible. By the end of the week I was able to flush out the following segments; Story, Mechanics and Class sheets.
Story
When outlining this segment I was not establishing a set in stone narrative for the game as my current point of view is leading to not having an explicitly narrative to the game and having mechanics as the main premise of the game. As a result of this for the story segment of the document I leant towards outlining a potential story concept that could potentially added towards the end of production if there is time remaining.
Mechanics
As mechanics play a key part in Breach it was important that I established to a significant level all of the gameplay mechanics that should be in the final product. At this point the mechanics that I have developed include; First Person Controller, Player, Player Classes and Damaging The Player / Enemy.
Class Sheets
Lastly for this week I began creating the class sheet segment which outlines each playable class which would be in the full release of the game. This class system is a means to create differing gameplay for the player in order to promote replayability. Unfortunately I didn't completely finish the segment in this week, I plan to do this by the end of next week.
In conclusion for this week I feel as though I have been able to achieve the goal that I set out for myself in the week prior, to populate the GDD. In the upcoming week I hope to repeat this and add to the class sheet section and outline a wide range of potential classes for a full release version of the product. If I am able to add anything after this I believe it will be a bonus as I am expecting the class sheetsegment to take a sizeable amount of time based on the fact that a large amount of components will need to be discussed for each player class.
