Breach - Week 3 Development Blog

Before getting into what contributed to the project this week I feel that it is important to outline the fact that in the coming weeks I personally have to commit less time to this project based on the fact that I am taking a major part in developing an external pitch to the Tranzfuser programme. This ultimately will result in a little less progression in this project until it has been submitted.
Now that some very basic gameplay systems have been established in Unity I felt that it would be beneficial at this point to begin the creation of Breach's Games Design Document (GDD). I began by outlining all of the specific fields which would be important for the document this includes for the time being the following; Game overview, Design pillars, Gameplay overview, Game mechanics, Story, Enemies, Level design, Art direction and Sound design. As development continues there is no doubt that further fields will be added to the GDD. Lastly alongside this I wrote out the Design pillar segment of the GDD outlining the primary pillars of the game and why they should be achieved in the final product.
Whilst there is no guarantee that I will get around to doing it, in the upcoming week I hope to further develop the GDD by filling in some more of the fields. It would be important to the progression of the project if I was able to achieve this based on the fact that it potentially displays problem solving by somewhat downscaling the task I have assigned myself based on other commitments whilst also adding to an important segment of the games development, the GDD.
