This blog officially marks the last week of Breach's production. As stated in the week prior this week was spend finalising the game and getting ready to make the final build. During this week I feel as though I was successful in getting everything wrapped up nicely into a working vertical slice.
My contributions during this week primarily involved getting the tutorial level to the standard of the hostage rescue level. This was achieved by adding the volume node for post processing into the scene, adding in lighting to the scene, providing more in game text to display to the player the functions of the voice command and finally added the system of the extraction point showing up once all hostages have been saved in order to introduce them to the standard gameplay loop. as previously stated I feel as though this could be considered enough for a vertical slice although not necessarily to the length in which I wanted to achieve at the start of production.
Upon reflection of the development of Breach I feel happy with the outcome which I was able to achieve given the somewhat turbulent production that I was faced in with some of it being my fault and the other being some external priorities. In hindsight perhaps better product management would have resulted in myself contributing to this project with tools such as Jira allowing me to stay on board with tasks.
