This week was spent attempting to establish a game loop which is currently non existent in the project. Based on time constraints I have decided upon pushing solely for the hostage rescue scenario. As a result of this during this week it was required that I develop a system in which there is a game manager that can detect the amount of hostage enemies in the scene and also ends the game once all of them have been subsequently rescued.

Alongside this I discovered an issue as to where the hostage enemies would not be independent of one another and would automatically trigger the release state as soon as the player entered their collider. This would allow for multiple hostages inside a singular level subsequently increasing the longevity of gameplay.

Alongside gameplay I also decided that now would be a good idea to develop the tutorial level into something that could be perceived as finished from an environmental standpoint. This was achieved once again by maintaining consistency from my concept placed inside of my GDD. Upon reflection I feel that the level in its current format could potentially be perceived as too small by not giving the player enough breathing room to learn mechanics. Whilst I do think this holds some truth for the sake of project progression I feel as though from a level mesh standpoint it would be more beneficial to leave it in the state that it is in.

As stated in the week prior I decided that this week would be spent on establishing a complete level block out for the tutorial level. Upon reflection I feel as though I have been successful in completing this task as I have created the level using reference from my GDD that provides a linear flow which will play into teaching the player the games mechanics.

In the upcoming week I hope to perform overall maintenance on the project. This could include things such as; changing all of the "FPS Engine" branding in the games UI elements, beginning to change the main menu images etc. to fit my game and also fixing an issue that I found with the main menu not displaying the cursor when returning from the scene.
